Feelings of uncertainty, self-disdain, trauma, and beauty expectations are the themes expressed within my artwork. Arranging compositions with antique dolls and mannequins, I explore the idealization of the female figure and the feelings of inadequacy these conventions create. Within the work, I show the differences and similarities between humans and these fake objects, discussing why there is such a glorification of these artificial human forms. They are considered the ideal beauty standard and what women are taught to be, yet they are bought, sold, and treated like objects. They represent the objectification and commodification of the female form. Through these painted objects, I represent my personal feelings of struggle and insecurity that come with womanhood.
